A pile of tasty nasi lemak up for grabs on an otherwise uneventful Thursday morning at work
Nasi Lemak Day at FHKL
Mm.. what a delicious Thursday
If you don’t know what nasi lemak is, you’re missing out on a cornerstone of Malaysia’s heritage. Think: rice soaked in coconut cream, then steamed with pandan and ginger to creamy, aromatic perfection. Serve with a side of sambal sotong and sambal kerang (a spicy taste-explosion of chilli sauce cooked with cuttlefish and cockles). And to top it all off, crunchy fried anchovies, a fried egg (yolk still slightly runny), roasted peanuts and crisp cucumber slices to take the edge of the heat.
Mmm.. so good.

you should publish something on BKT one day. Pork simmered to perfection… coated with multiple herbs and spices that would certainly make your mouth water with ecstasy…… etc etc.
Haha, should I take that as a compliment that I describe food goood? :P Unfortunately I’m not really a bak kut teh fan! Heresy, I know.
NASI LEMAK! I know I shouldn’t be craving for it since I had it for lunch, but gosh it is gooood.
YES! I WANT PLEASE! I’m a Malaysian as well but currently living overseas. And my no.1 thing to look forward when I go back home is the FOOD. Laksa. Nasi Lemak. ABC. Satay. Mee prawn. I MIGHT LIST ALL OF THEM LOL. And these are one of the things that makes me miss home despite all the negativity that’s been happening.
I’ll eat some nasi lemak for you, Tommi. Thanks for stopping by! :)
